Pastor

Dear friend,
We live in tumultuous times. Our enemy is diligently seeking whom he may devour. He has come against God’s people in full force and is trying his best to thwart all things that God’s people are trying to do for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.

With this in view, we must keep in mind that Christ told Peter that the gates of Hell would not prevail against the church, the body of Christ. Brother and sister in Christ we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ. Since we can KNOW that we are victorious then let us not grow weary in well doing. We must keep sowing the seed of the Gospel as we continue to serve a risen savior.

This leads me to two questions: (1) Friend can you go back to a point in your life where you have had an experience with Jesus that has changed your life? Not an emotional encounter where the effects have worn off in a season of time, but a true experience that has resulted in a lifestyle change. This is the result of a change that has occurred in your heart and way of living and not just your mind and way of thinking.

If you cannot say that you had an experience like this let me urge you to do so. Romans 3:23 states “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 tells us that “the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans also tells us that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” John recorded in his gospel the words of Christ that make an impact in our life. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in His should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Friend that includes us all. All have sinned and all have the opportunity to respond to the Gospel. Do you feel the Lord urging you call on His name for salvation. Please pray and ask God to forgive you of your sins and save you.

The second question is this, ‘If you are a Christian, are you involved in a local church body.” The Lord wants you and I to be involved in a local congregation so that we may grow in grace and knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is imperative for our personal spiritual life to be engaged in the ministry of a local congregation. If you are a part of a local body I encourage you to support your church financially with your tithes and offerings and physically by being a part of a ministry that the Holy Spirit has given you a gift through which you may serve.

If you do not have a local church to attend I personally invite you to be a part of Mt Carmel Baptist Church. We seek to make a positive impact in the community where we are located and also in the world that surrounds us. If you are searching for a place to serve and worship your Savior then we at Mt Carmel invite you to visit with us and become a part of our growing church body.
